DRINKING WATER STANDARDS
In this literature with “drinking water” it is intended the quality of water as for the EU Council Directive 98/83/EC
concerning the quality of water for human consumption, as “...all water intended for drinking, cooking, food
preparation and other domestic purposes...” and “...all water used in food-production undertaking for the
manufacture, processing, preservation or marketing of products or substances intended for human
consumption...” (Article 2).
By the EU Directive the following parameters should be not exceeded to comply with the definition of “drinking
water”.
WHO (World Health Organization) parameters are associated for confrontation of drinking water parameters
worldwide.
